Raydar: A Skin Cancer Prevention Proposal

Raydar: A Skin Cancer Prevention Proposal
Raydar is a concept my team proposed in order to equip emerging technologies i.e. artificial intelligence, virtual reality, mixed reality, etc. with a significant problem space. Introducing our product: Raydar. Raydar is a digital mirror that users can stand in front of to see their sunscreen application, sunburn, and UV damage using 3 separate filters. Using UV light technology, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality our product can encourage users to be sun safe. To display sunscreen application Raydar will equip UV light filters which can display where the sunscreen is on the user in black and white with the sunscreen appearing black on the user. With augmented reality we will display the UV light filter in colour with the sunscreen appearing on the user as a vibrant blue. The UV light filter is also the technology that will display UV damage on the user. With artificial intelligence Raydar will detect sunburn on users and augmented reality will emphasise the redness so users are aware.
My group presented our project among the rest of our cohort at UNSW in a 'shark tank' pitch and were titled the winners.
